Class 2 2019 - 2020
Hello Year 2,
I hope that you all have had a lovely half term break in the sunshine! I am missing each and everyone of you and I am looking foward to seeing all your smiling faces learning in class soon. Thank you for all your emails. It has been so lovely to see what you have been up to each week. I am incredibly proud of each and everyone of you and what you have achieved so far! During this time at home, I hope you have enjoyed the challenges set for you so far and are looking forward to completing two more weeks’ worth of challenges. It is important to keep up to date with academic work, but I hope you are taking the time to complete different activities, such as den building, baking, practising new skills or completing lots of crafts.
In the Addis household, we have completed lots of decorating, power washing (everything and anything insight) and been completing lots of fitness. I have been doing Joe Wicks’ daily workouts and have taken up running again!

*New wesbite* https://www.foodafactoflife.org.uk/remote-learning/ . On this website, you'll find lots of ideas, activities and resources to support learning around food, cooking, healthy eating, and where food comes from.
As a school, we follow the maths scheme of White Rose Maths. During this period of home schooling, White Rose has produced daily maths lessons on the year 2 objectives, with a learning video to watch and activities to complete after. I would highly recommend that you complete these activities, as this directly links to what we would be doing in school. As the free access to home learning resources on White Rose Maths website has ended, we as a school have signed up to their premium resources. This week, the home learning resources on the website is an area which we have already covered in class so I have added the White Rose resources for 'Fractions' on our class page. The concept of Fractions is very tricky! Please complete the questions practically using objects at home or pictorally. The children will not be able to do this in their heads.
Please continue to work on last week's area of 'time' until secure Time is a very tricky concept and it will not be learnt in a week. Little and often throughout the day is best!
I have also been regularly putting new homework tasks on My Maths. Please be checking frequently to see what has been posted.
As part of you Geography work for these 2 weeks, I would like you to access the site Digi Maps for Schools. This is an online interactive map website. On the file section, I have attached the home learning pack I would like you to complete. Please email me for the username and password to access the site.
On the student section of the website, I have made class discussion where the children can talk to each other about activities they have been doing. Please find your username and password on your homework folder or reading diary.
